Baltic Sea Co-op Environmental Project

A part of the ICA long-term environmental strategy is to find models for transferring
experience from environmentally successful co-ops to other ICA members. The models must
also be economically successful as we want to show that it is good business to "go
green". ICA is therefore monitoring and evaluating a project exchanging experiences of 16
ICA members in the Baltic Sea area. The project is led by a Steering Committee which met

Business Opportunities
When ICA asked its members what it could do better, the members answered that providing
business opportunities was a very high priority. A lunch seminar,  attended by some 40
people, was arranged in Geneva. 

The successful business work among co-operatives was presented by the Regional Director
for the Americas, Juan Diego Pacheco, while Byron Henderson of the University of
