World Food and Agrobusiness Congress VIII is to be held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, from 30 June through 2 July 1998. The Congress is being sponsored by IAMA, the International Food and Agrobusiness Management Association, in co-operation with Associacao Brasileira de Agrobusiness, IAMA Capitulo Argentina, Universidad ORT - Uruguay and PENSA-USP.

The International Food and Agrobusiness Management Association (IAMA) is an association of food and agrobusiness industry leaders from around the world - managers of public, private, and co-operative commercial organisations, educators, scientists, policy makers and others united by a common concern. They believe that the value-added food and fiber chains should be economically efficient, responsive to nutritional and other human needs, global and sustainable. To address these issues, IAMA brings business leaders from all segments of the global food and fiber chains together with the academic and scientific communities and public policy makers at its annual World Food and Agribusiness Congress.
