Staff Changes

1. Mr. Malte Jonsson, Senior Development Adviser,
with the ICA ROAP returned to Sweden on 23
June 1996 after completion of a 3-year term.
2. Mr. K.L. Nalwaya, on secondment from the National
Co-operative Union of India (NCUI), worked as
Membership Officer with the ICA for one year term
and returned to NCUI on 4th July 1996.
3. Mr. G.K. Sharma, after serving the ICA Regional Office
for Asia and the Pacific as its Regional Director for more
than 9 years, relinquished his assignment on 7th October
1996. In December 1996, he took over the position of
Senior Adviser to Director-General, posted at New Delhi.
4. Mr. Robby Tulus took over the Regional Director's position
in the retirement of Mr. G.K. Sharma on 7th October 1996.
Earlier, Mr. Tulus has been working with the ICA ROAP
as Senior Policy Adviser since last three years.
5. The Japanese Consumers Co-operative Union (JCCU),
one of the member organisations of the ICA, has deputed
Ms. Yukiko Yamamoto, a Japanese national, to work
as Gender Programme Adviser at ICA ROAP for a
period of three years in addition to the present Gender
Adviser, Ms. Akiko Yamauchi.
6. Ms. Akiko Yamauchi will be completing her tenure
with the ICA ROAP in May 1997 when Ms. Yukiko
Yamamoto will take over charge from Ms. Akiko Yamauchi.
7. In pursuance of the policy to decentralise the work of ICA
in Geneva, Mr. Ram Prakash was assigned to the
Membership Department as well as Global Data Bank
from 1st July 1996, in addition to his present work
as Technical Officer, ICA ROAP Data Bank.
