7th ICA Japan Rural Women Training Course

A training course for rural farm women leaders of agricultural
co-operatives was organised by the ICA in Tokyo, Japan, during
November 10 to December 3 1997.

The training course, seventh in the series, was conducted by the IDACA.
Six participants representing India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka attended the
programme. The main focus during the training course was laid on the
organisation, activities and development of women's associations in the
agricultural co-operative sector in Japan.

Besides following the class-room lectures, the participants were able to
visit agricultural co-operatives and women's associations in Hyogo and
JA Tskui-gun.

During the training course the participants were able to develop their own
national programmes with a view to organise women's associations in
their respective countries.
