JA-ZENCHU/JICA study on integrated development of rural
co-operatives in Indonesia

The two-year study on Integrated Development of Rural
Co-operatives/KUD in the Republic of Indonesia fielded by the
JA-Zenchu with the financial support of the JICA and carried out in
collaboration with the Ministry of Co-operatives and Small Enterprise
of the Government of Indonesia prepared its draft final report during
December 1997. The main objective of the study was to identify the
methods and techniques for making rural co-operatives fully integrated
and self-sustaining institutions  to the advantage of rural farmer-members.

The final report of the study is expected to be ready for submission to
the JICA and to the Government of Indonesia before March 1998. 

Dr. Daman Prakash, Project Director of the ICA-Japan Projects was one
of the technical consultants of the team.
