Seminar of People's Credit Fimds

A seminar on People's Credit Funds was held in Hanoi, Vietnam- 23 April, 1998 which was organised by the State Bank of Vietnam and Developpement International Desjardins, Canada on the issue of Micro- Credit Finance. Robby Tulus, the Regional Director of ICA participated at this important and successful seminar and presented a paper on `Co operative Networking'.

In his paper, Mr. Tulus emphasized the need for credit co-operatives to have a viable network to face rising competition in the market place. He gave an overview of credit and financial sector co-operatives in the region and described the efforts by the International Co-operative Alliance and its regional office in this respect.

He also advocated the need to apply the recently adopted ICA Co-operative Identity Statement in practical business transactions of co-operatives to the benefit of its members.
