New staff at ICA ROAP
Mr. B.D. Sharma,  who retired as the Chief Executive of the National Co-operative Union of India, has joined the services of ICA Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, with effect from 01 July, 1998.

He will be responsible for the ICA activities in the South, West and Central Asia sub-region.

Mr. Romulo Villamin, who has been working with the Canadian Co-operative Association in their Zimbabwe project has joined the ICA effective 21st July, 1998.

He will continue to be associated with the CCA’s activities, in addition to those of the ICA Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific.

Jirozaemon Saito died on 12 June 1998 at the age of 89. Mr. Saito served as President of primary level fishery co-oepratives in Japan for 43 years. He was the Chairman of the ICA Fisheries Committee for 16 years from 1976 to 1992.
