VICCOOPSME Adopts a New Form of Organisation
*********************************************


Dr. Vu Luu, General Director of the newly formed Vietnam Co-
operatives Union (VCU) indicates that former Central Council 
of Co-operative Union and Small and Medium Enterprises of Vietnam 
(VICOOPSME) has changed its name to become the Vietnam Co-operative 
Union with effect from 1 January, 1997. 

The change has taken place in keeping with the new co-operative 
law that has been passed by the national assembly of the Republic of Vietnam.
