U.S. Agricultural Cooperatives - 1994 & 1995 statistics

Farmer cooperatives market 86% of U.S. milk, 40% of all grains and oilseeds, 41% of cotton, 20% of fruits and vegetables, and 13% of the livestock produced in the U.S.

These record years were due primarily to an increase in volume of grains, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables, and increased prices of friuts and vegetables.

From 1994 to 1995, combined assets rose 12% from 1994, to $40.3 billion. Total liabilities increased more than 16%, to $23.6 billion. Net worth rose almost 7%, to $16.7 billion.
