| Abstract | This study examined the extent to which large agricultural marketing cooperatives were involved in food and tobacco manufacturing in 1977 and 1982. Census data allowed us to identify the industries in which cooperatives are most active, the extent to which cooperatives held leading positions, and the extent to which they appeared to hold positions with market power. |
