| Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the part the Phillips article has played in the advancement of the neoclassical theory of cooperatives. Toward that end, we will examine the role Phillips gave the cooperative in his model and compare it to the roles and objectives assigned to the cooperative by other authors, both before and after publication of the Phillips article. This paper concludes with a summary of Phillips' contributions to cooperative theory. |
