Comparing Cooperatives
in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania
Almost 200 people gathered on June 13, 2012 for a one-day
conference at Drexel University in Philadelphia, featuring case studies from
rural and urban cooperatives in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Attendees explored the use of cooperatives as
an economic development tool, and shared information on best practices around
cooperative development and management.
The conference
was modeled on an earlier economic development forum at Drexel and emerged from discussions between the
Philadelphia cooperative community, UWCC’s Anne Reynolds, and faculty at Drexel
and Haverford College.
The case studies
that were presented at the conference will be published by UW Extension in
2013.
