Abstract McBride's text consists of 18 chapters divided into two sections. The first section centers on the "Why" of agricultural cooperatives and contains chapters 1 through 5. This section attempts to justify the existence of domestic farmer cooperatives. The second section focuses on the "How" of agricultural cooperatives and contains chapters 6 through 18. This section covers a wide variety of topics including: the Rochdale principles, federal marketing orders, etc.
